YouTube Spotlight: Bonerama

Formed in 1998 by Mark Mullins and Craig Klein, trombonists in Harry Connick Jr.’s big band, Bonerama rides its three-trombone front line through a highly danceable, groove-laden gumbo of improvisational jazz, rock, funk, brass band traditions and trombone soul. Rolling Stone praised the band’s “crushing ensemble riffing, human-feedback shrieks and wah-wah growls” and hailed Bonerama as “the ultimate in brass balls.” The Bonerama sound suggests the Meters jamming with Black Sabbath with P-Funk’s Horny Horns sitting in—it’s music with “a whole lotta mule kick” (Rolling Stone). They'll be jamming on the NewPage Main Stage on Friday and Saturday.
